Description
Ladderstile is a house is constructed from an exposed timber frame from renewable sources and naturally ventilated throughout with heating provided by a ground source heat pump. The building is composed from a series of CLT (cross laminated timber) boxes supported and cantilevered variously from other boxes or glulaminated timber beams. A swimming pool at ground floor demands clear column-free spans in excess of 12m. The main stairs are boldly cantilevered from a timber spine wall
